The No. 3 golfer in the world Rory McIlroy got in a round with President Trump on Sunday. McIlroy, continuing his rehab from a stress fracture in his ribs, got in 18 holes with Trump according to No Laying Up, a golf site.
After the round, McIlroy spoke of the President’s performance saying, “He probably shot around 80. He’s a decent player for a guy in his 70s.”
The 2014 PGA Championship winner was called by the White House on Saturday for his availability. Being only 30 minutes from Trump International in Florida, McIlroy accepted the invite. Former Yankee Paul O’Neill and Clear Sports CEO Garry Singer were in a photo with McIlroy and Trump as well, but apparently were not part of the round.

It will be interesting to how McIlroy handles the reaction to the news over the next couple of days, or if he responds at all. As for playing again, he’s looking to make his comeback at the upcoming WGC-Mexico Championship.
