DraftKings Fantasy Golf Picks: Win $1 Million This Week

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, degenerate wagerers from all disciplines of gambling — Welcome, to the 115th U.S. Open!

It’s time to place your bets and make your fantasy golf picks. It’s the U.S. Open, which means this week is major (se- see what I did there?) in terms of making some money on golf’s second major.

As you all know by now, I love taking some of the action on the action and I’m hear to help you out, too. As always, however, I can only make suggestions — the final rosters are all up to you.

Draft Kings:

Perhaps the most fun and easy way to get in on the action this week is by playing on Here’s a look at who I’ve taken and why:

Rory McIlroy – $13,000 – I mean, you kind of have to take Rory to anchor your squad this week, right? This is no-brainer for me and should be for you, too.

Jason Day – $9,900 – If there’s one player on Tour today with the game to win a U.S. Open, it’s Jason Day. He’s finished runner-up in this event twice and has more rounds in the 60’s in this tournament than anyone not named Rory McIlroy in the last few years. He’s already won once this year and continues to turn in solid performances week after week.

Brooks Koepka – $7,800 – Brooks Koepka is another guy who has seen the track before this week and I think that’s going to pay dividends in the U.S. Open. Hard to ignore him, too, considering the way he’s played as of late.

Ryan Moore – $7,500 – If you haven’t noticed the trend here, I’m taking guys who have seen the property at Chambers Bay before this year. Ryan Moore was raised less than 10 miles from Chambers Bay and has the game to surprise this week.

Bryson DeChambeau – $6,100 – Bryson DeChambeau is my type of player and I can’t wait to see what he does as a pro in a couple years. His hero — as is mine — is Payne Stewart, so this is a bit of a heart pick. That being said, he’s still capable of playing well this week.

Beau Hossler – $5,700 – Hossler makes the squad because he’s probably the best remaining player at $5,700. Really, after about $7,500 there aren’t too many guys who I think will have a great week — Hossler has surprised before and very well could again.

The Odds

If online fantasy sports isn’t your game or you’re just looking to make a couple extra bucks elsewhere this week, there are plenty of players worth taking the action on straight up.

Jason Day is the most obvious and for all the same reasons listed above. He’s getting 30/1 money this week, which means you’d be an absolute idiot not to put at least $20 on the guy.

Obviously, McIlroy is also a safe bet though he won’t produce a big pay day unless you bet big, but that wouldn’t deter me from taking a little action on him. You do know how much I like being right, after all.

A couple sleepers worth a serious look this week are Victor Dubuisson at 150/1, Chris Kirk at 80/1 and Anriban Lihiri at 500/1.

There you have it, friends and degenerate wagerers. Until next time, go and choose wisely….
