Winners and Losers: McIlroy’s New Boo, Bowditch Wins AT&T

The summer is heating up and the golf world’s best were teeing it up the world over this week. With the PGA, LPGA and European Tours all in action, there were plenty of great shots, big wins and epic performances — but there were also plenty of folks who enter Monday wondering what went wrong. Here are this past week’s winners and losers from the world of golf:

Maverick McNealy: Maverick McNealy is one likely to be a major player in golf’s bright future, but this past week wasn’t his best. The standout Sophomore from Stanford had one of the best year’s on record for college player, collecting six wins along the way. He entered the NCAA Championship with wins in three of his last four starts, but struggled to start the week and never recovered, finishing at four over for the tournament. No one should be hitting the panic button just yet — I mean, even Rory has missed two straight cuts. Nothing to worry about, but still disappointing for McNealy. NEXT: All the Single Ladies
