PGA TOUR player Robert Allenby was reportedly kidnapped from a wine bar and beaten just hours after missing the cut at the Sony Open in Honolulu, Hawaii.
According to Steve Sands of the Golf Channel, Allenby, his brother and his caddie were at a Waikiki wine bar on Friday evening. Allenby’s acquaintances soon left, leaving the golfer alone when he was abducted, according to the report.
The Golf Channel also released a police photo on its website, revealing that Allenby sustained considerable damage to his face during the assault. Allenby has no recollection of the incident, but reported to have also been robbed as his cash, credit cards and wallet were taken from him.
Allenby was picked up by a retired military officer in a park roughly six miles from where he was taken.
