Putnam and Petrovic Share Lead | RBC Canadian Open

Tim Petrovic and Michael Putnam share the first round lead in the RBC Canadian Open after shooting rounds of 6 under 64 on a sunny and windy afternoon at Royal Montreal.

Miracles do happen, just ask Petrovic, he was the last player to get in the field, after Benjamin Alvarado withdrew Tuesday. Putnam, the co-leader had six birdies in his bogey-free round on Thursday.

Kyle Stanley and Canadian amateur, Taylor Pendrith are at five under par, tied for third, just one back of the leaders. Pendrith is making his first PGA Tour start, and is coming off his senior season at Kent State.

There is a crowd tied at four under par including, Nick Watney, Charl Schwartzel, and Bo Van Pelt. Two-time champion, Jim Furyk and Canadian David Hearn fired opening rounds 67 and are at three under par. Brandt Snedeker, the defending champion, had a 69 and is at one under.
