Odyssey is known to make some of the best putters in the world and the greatest players on tour use them. If the pros use them, you know they have to be made well. The Protype Tour Series line of putters, by Odyssey, are designed from the feedback of Tour Pros all over the world. With this feedback, they were able to develop a premium line of putters.
The Protype tour series won the silver medal in the 2012 Golf Digest Hot List.
From Golf Digest:
The roll is one of the purest I’ve experienced.
In order to hit putts, the putter has to have a solid feel. This putter is made from 1025 carbon steel, which gives it a soft feel. This soft feel allows a putter to have a more consistent and pure roll. Also, the putter needs to help keep your stroke steady and consistent when you’re under pressure. Odyssey has made the heads of these putters weigh more depending on the length. This creates an ideal balance of the putter so that it promotes a smooth stroke from anywhere on the green.
The #9 putter has a blade head and is available for right-handed and left-handed players. You have your choice of 33, 34, or 35 inches in length. It has 3 degrees of loft with a 71 degree lie.
What I really love about this line of putters is that Odyssey gives you the opportunity to personalize your putter. You can select among six different colors for grips and putter head paint fill.
The #9 putter has a great look with a bigger head than a traditional blade. I really like the extra weight that is in the head of this putter. I have a hard time with under-pressure putts, so the extra weight in the head of this putter will help me keep a steady strokes. This putter is out on the market, so if you want more “one-putts”, give the #9 putter a try.
