Ryan Moore edges out Gary Woodland in a hole playoff early Monday Morning to capture this years CIMB Classic at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & CC.
Moore sealed the suddenly death match with a four foot birdie putt. Moore forced a playoff late Sunday after Gary woodland failed to capitalize on a 12 foot birdie putt to win the event. Due to the inclement and darkness, Moore and woodland had to wait til 7:30 this morning to play their sudden death match.
Moore’s first round 63 carried him through the first two rounds after failing to produce much of a score (E) for the second round. It seemed liked that early on in this even that Keegan Bradley would have been crowned champion with two strong rounds (65,66), however, after a disastrous +4 third round, he could not regain his lead and would finish 10th. Asian Tour standout Kiradech Aphibarnat surprised many by keeping himself in the top ranks with a great performance tying for third with Chris Stroud who at one point had a share of the lead as well.
Moore walkways away $1.26 million and 500 cup points.
