Heading into the final day of the Deutsche Bank Championship Bubba Watson held a slim lead. However, by the time the final round ended on Monday it was Webb Simpson sitting atop the leaderboard.

Simpson, who won his first PGA Tour championship just three weeks ago, won his second title this weekend in Massachusetts. However, this ended up being a rather difficult tournament for Simpson to win, as it required a late rally to give Simpson the victory.
On the final hole Simpson was staring at at 30-foot birdied putt just to give him a tie for first and force a playoff. Simpson sank the putt, and went on to do the same in the playoff.
The two-hole playoff was between Simpson and Chez Reavie, who bogeyed the easiest hole on the course and fell back into a tie with Simpson.
Simpson went on to birdie both holes in the playoff. Reavie stayed with him for the first playoff hole, but was unable to match Simpson on the second extra hole at 17.
The win ended up being a huge one for Simpson, especially in terms of the FedEx Cup standings. It moved Simpson to No. 1 in the FedEx Cup standings, and puts him in prime position to win the $10 million prize.
"I told somebody early this week that I feel like next time I was in contention, it'll be a lot easier than [his first tour victory] Greensboro. And it wasn't that way at all. It was just as hard. The shots and the putts were just as hard. I think it helped calm me down a little, but it was like I had never won a golf tournament before."
In the end, Simpson and Reavie both finished at 15-under for the tournament, with Simpson winning the playoff. Three players found themselves tied for third at 13-under, including Jason Day, Brandt Snedeker and Luke Donald.
The next tournament will be the BMW Championship at the Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont, IL. It will be played September 15-18. Dustin Johnson is the defending champion.
