I just happen to be driving by my favorite pro shop and decided to take a small detour to check out some putters. I’ve always been pretty faithful to my Ping putters. It all started with my grandfather’s used golf clubs. He gave me his old Ping Anser as a young kid and for some reason, maybe for nostalgia, I have continued to put Pings in my bag. They’ve always felt right and comfortable in my hands, but lately I’ve been toying with the idea of switching. So, that prompted my side trip to seek out some new answers. Do I make a switch? Do I get another Ping? Do I just stick with what I have?
I went and had a few practice putts on their green. I tried the latest Method by Nike and a slew of Scotty Camerons. Putter after putter after putter... to be honest they all started to feel the same. After trying out different grips and those of varying weights, I walked away empty handed. I decided to sleep on it and give my Ping another round.
