The Ping Karsten series just continued to get better and better with the introduction of the Ping Karsten IV Iron Set. A further improvement and fine-tuning of the original Karsten Irons, the clubs in the Ping Karsten IV Iron Set featured edges which were smoother and more curved than the clubs in the earlier Ping Karsten, Ping Karsten I, Karsten II and Karsten III Iron Sets.

The clubs in the Ping Karsten IV Iron Set also featured a cavity design that went deeper than earlier models. This gave the clubs in the Ping Karsten IV Iron Set more extreme perimeter weighting, which in turn gave the clubs more and more forgiveness. The Karsten IV's also featured a barrel hosel design and engineering which gave the club more stability at the point of strike contact with the ball.
