The Ping G2 Irons were designed with revolutionary perimeter weighting, that took the weight of the head from the face and moved it to the edges. That perimeter weighting, combined with widened soles and across-the-board lower centers of gravity, made the Ping G2 Irons known for both higher launch shots and improved forgiveness.
The Ping G2 L was designed for women. With a lighter weight, this model of the Ping G2 Irons series was perfect for players with a slow swing speed. The Ping G2 L took loft progressions and made them work to get the optimal distance between shots.
The Ping G2 HL was designed to give players higher lofts. Like the other clubs in the Ping G2 Irons line, the G2 HL was designed with the wider sole and perimeter weighting that the other models in the line enjoyed.
The Ping G2 EZ was the club made for players with slower swing speeds. It too sought to maximize yardage gaps between the different clubs.
Although Ping is constantly improving on its previous work, the Ping G2 Irons still compete with the best irons out there, and the series has its die-hard fans who don't want to experiment with any other club because they don't need to experiment - they've found what they're looking for with the G2s.
