The Ping Anser 2 was, like the other models in Ping's Karsten series, engineered and developed for players who wanted a club that performed like it had a steel face but felt like it was an insert. That's because the cavity's elastomer insert gives extra feel while at the same time offering players the consistent response of a typical putter with a steel face. In addition to having an elastomer insert, the Ping Anser 2 Putter's cavity design allowed for weight to be moved to the club face's perimeter. That meant a longer moment of inertia, which meant extra forgiveness. What's more, the Ping Anser 2 came with multi-level alignment aids.
The Ping Anser 2 Putter came in both right-handed and left-handed versions. The club's head weight was 340 grams, and like many other models of Ping's Karsten series, the Ping Anser 2 Putters were heel-toe balanced.
