Ping Incorporated is one of those small-time, labor-of-love-hits-the-big-time stories that practically everyone loves. Founded by Karsten Solheim in 1967, Ping golf clubs actually began their life in 1959 when Solheim made his first putter in his Redwood City, California garage. An engineer by trade, Solheim was on the lookout for the perfect putter, and when he couldn’t buy it he decided to make one himself. One thing lead to another and he was soon making Ping golf clubs full-time in a new headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. Today Ping golf clubs are known the world over, and used by some of the biggest names on both the PGA and the European Tours. It’s a brand that’s well-known for it’s complete commitment to quality, and much of that commitment comes through in the intensely engineered clubs. The entire family of Ping golf clubs, which includes irons, drivers, fairway woods, hybrids wedges and putters, is known for innovation, design — and oftentimes revolution.
