Just as I noted when writing my review for the Diablo Hybrids, Callaway is a brand that is always looking to update and improve their clubs. The FT-IZ is no exception to this rule as they have increased its workability and overall performance from the previous model. It has a much higher resistance to twisting during impact, resulting in straighter, more consistent shots.

To really put this club into proper perspective consider this, the MOI (Moment of Inertia) of the Callaway FT-IZ Hybrids is about the same as some of the drivers Callaway released in 2002. This means you are getting remarkable amounts of distance and power from a hybrid club, something that many users are sure to appreciate.

The appearance of the Callaway FT-IZ Hybrids is not what you would normally expect from a hybrid club. It features a triangular shaped clubhead that really allows the user to feel the club slicing through the air on your swing. The downside of this particular club is its size, as it is rather large. However, when it comes to performance and overall specifications the Callaway FT-IZ Hybrid is a great club that is high-performing and very user-friendly.

As I stated above, the impressive thing about the Callaway Diablo Edge Tour Hybrids are the expert manufacturing and design. The clubs feature moment of inertia that is thirty percent higher than that of last year's model. As a golfer you must appreciate the fact that Callaway isn't simply standing pat, but working on improving an already quality product. The Diablo Edge also features a wide, shallow profile that lowers the center of gravity to help get the ball higher into the air.

Nearly every review I have examined concerning the Callaway Diablo Edge Tour Hybrids is remarkably positive. Users seem giddy over its performance and specs, and I have to agree. Recently I got to do a review for the Callaway Diablo Edge Driver and I gave it a very positive review. One of the potential downsides of this club is what I loved so much, the design. Users are calling the triangular head-shape distracting and unnecessary, but I felt it made the club look great and really gave me an extra bit of power on my swings. My only negative reaction was to the excessive amounts of feedback you got from the club, which I felt was an unnecessary addition to this otherwise productive wood. However, I felt that the large sweet spot really made it hard to miss with this club, causing me to give it a can't miss rating, literally.

The bottom line with the Callaway FT-IZ Fairway Wood is that you are getting a club that is going to send the ball flying right off the club. Users looking to add power and performance from their fairway game don't have to look much further than the FT-IZ. However, if you aren't a fan of unusual club designs than this particular club isn't for you. If you don't care about the level of aerodynamics in the head of your club, the Callaway FT-IZ Fairway Wood is a positive choice with positive results.

The purpose of this particular design is to allow weight to be saved and give the user a more consistent ball-speed, as well as a high level of stability and consistency on off-center hits. This allows much more room for error and increases the overall level of forgiveness, something that almost every player will appreciate. The fancy terms that Callaway has come up with to describe the FT-IZ are certainly worth dissecting, as the polar weighting and chemically milled hyperbolic face cup are fancy terms for high performance.

Overall there is no question that the level of performance and technology featured in the Callaway FT-IZ is something quite special. It is a strong, durable driver that has loads of power. I have come across many clubs that I have claimed "perfect" when in fact none are so, but they seem to strike me that particular day. However, the Callaway FT-IZ is a driver that I don't see leaving my personal bag for a very long time. Now, will it work just as well for you? Callaway has never been the type of brand to introduce outlandish new styles of technology, as they generally tend to stick to the basics. One of the biggest trends recently in the world of drivers has been the shifting around of weight throughout the club head. That is one of the main selling points of the Callaway X460, as the engineers at Callaway are promoting this pretty intently. The shifting of the weight for this particular club was done purely to increase the moment of inertia and give the user the optimum level of performance and forgiveness.

One of my favorite features of the Callaway X460 driver was its appearance. It is a beautiful black metallic shine that gives off an aura of professionalism. I think that the X460 is one of the best looking and highest performing drivers I have used in a long time, and it definitely is worthy of the comparisons between itself and Callaway's previous driver, the Big Bertha.

Callaway, one of the most prestigious names in golf, has released two new model drivers to the public that are causing quite a stir amongst users. They utilize the companies trademarked Fusion multimaterial technology, but other than that are two violently different clubs. The FT-i, where the i stands for inertia, is a more aggressively shaped club, whereas the FT-5 is a revolutionized update to the FT-3 driver. One of the other main differences between the FT-1 and the FT-5 are the construction of the face, as the FT-i has a slightly deeper and more narrow hitting area than its FT-5 counterpart.

While the performance of the two clubs definitely differs, much of this has to do with the overall construction of each club. While I mentioned some of the physical differences earlier in the review, that is certainly not the extent of the differences between the FT-i and FT-5 drivers. Callaway has given the FT-i an unusually square design, but it is a relatively easy setup for any user. The FT-5 is going to be much more user friendly, and provides the user with a much cleaner and less complicated approach to hitting the ball. From every angle the FT-i looks much more unique, whereas the appearance of the FT-5 is a much more traditional look that most golfers will be more accustomed to.

As I stated before, the FT-5 looks significantly larger than the FT-i, but in reality the clubheads both have the same volume. The FT-5 also has a wider face area and a shorter body, two significant differences from the FT-i. Both drivers, however, feature a dashing flash of red on the sole, and a little bit of aluminum for added durability. Overall, both these clubs, although different, give positive performances on the course, and that is all that matters.

Callaway has always had a long history of successful fairway woods and drivers. This reputation is continued perfectly with the release of the Callaway X Hot Fairway Wood. Callaway has taken the weight out of the hosel by boring through the sole of the club, which then allows it to move the weight to the perimeter of the clubhead. The face of the X Hot Fairway Wood is constructed from 455 Carpenter Steel, which is harder than the more typical steel used in competing clubs. This also makes the Callaway X Hot Fairway Wood much more evenly weight distributed across the face, which will increase the swing speed.
