If you want to talk about an epic way to win a tournament, look no further than Ethan Tracy. Tracy took home the Club Colombia Championship trophy on Sunday with a magnificent shot to force a playoff against Roberto Diaz.
Tracy earned himself a playoff after he holed out with an eagle from 101 yards away on the 18th. It didn’t take him too long to put Diaz away on the par-5 second playoff hole with a 20-foot birdie putt at Bogota Country Club. He also got a birdie on the par-4 17th and finished the with a 6-under 65.
The win came on Tracy’s fourth start on the Web.com tour, collecting a cool $126,000. Recognizing how he forced extra golf, Tracy said, “I was just grateful to be in the playoff.” He also added:
Somehow, I made a great shot, and I was fortunate that it went in. I capitalized on a good shot in the playoff with a great putt. Overall, the 18th was pretty good to me.”
I knew 13 was the number. I was going to get it all the way back to that pin, and if it went over, so be it. I had to give it a chance.”
