I really think flipping the nines at East Lake is a good idea for several reasons. First it makes the final hole a par 5 which is always more exciting to me than finishing on a par 3, but also because it will put the spotlight on the challenging 6th hole which will become the 15th hole. In case you have forgotten, that hole is a par three over water to a small green.
