LPGA News: 11 Year Old Lucy Li to Play in U.S. Women’s Open

Right when we were just getting comfortable with Lydia Ko and her amazing talents at such a young age, in steps Lucy Li.  Li is an 11 year old who will become the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open after winning the sectional qualifier at Half Moon Bay, Ca.

Li shot rounds of 74 and 68 on the par-72 Old Course on Monday to give her the victory.  If you didn’t know, Lexi Thompson had been the youngest when she qualified for the Open in 2007 at the age of 12.

We will have to wait and see how 11 year old Li performs, but even if she struggles, it is quite impressive for someone at such a young age to perform at such a high level.   Good luck to miss Li.
