2014 Valspar Championship Recap: John Senden Tames the Copperhead

John Senden closed strong at Copperhead to earn his second victory on Sunday at the Valspar Championship. Senden was two shots behind going into Sunday and shot a 1-under par 70 to record his first PGA tour win since the 2006. It couldn’t have been a better victory on Sunday for Senden because it will get him into the first major this year, The Masters next month. He took control of the championship on one of the toughest holes at Innisbrook with a chip-in from 70 feet for his last birdie.

Kevin Na had a long birdie putt on the final hole that would have forced a playoff, but ended up wide left. Na finished up second, one shot behind Senden. Scott Langley finished up alone in third with a final round 70. Saturday’s leader Robert Garrigus, Will MacKenzie, and Luke Donald tied for fourth three shots behind Senden.
