With a day of gusty winds and heavy rains that stopped play for more than 2 hours on Thursday on the redesigned Trump National course showed it will be a tough course to conquer. Play was suspended after darkness sat in with many players still on the course. Only 19 players were under par when the round was stopped.
Five players are tied at the top of the leader board at three under par, Harris English, Jason Dufner, Hunter Mahan, Francesco Molinari and Patrick Reed with English being the only player to finish his round with a 69. Tiger Woods only made it through 10 holes, and was plus two five shots back. Adam Scott is at two under, with Henrik Stenson at even par while playing alongside Woods. Russell Henley, coming off a playoff win last week at The Honda Classic, is at two under thur 15 holes. Rory McIlroy got off to a blazing start with four birdies in five holes, only to end the back nine with back-to-back bogeys to be at one under par thur 14 holes.
Round 1 will resume at 8:45 am est. Round 2 will begin as scheduled.
