20 year-old Jessica Korda wins the Bahamas LPGA Classic with a total score of 19-under, 273. This is Korda’s second victory on the LPGA tour, her first was the Australian Open in 2012 at Royal Mebourne. She drained a 12-foot putt on the par 3, 17th, to tie Stacey Lewis for the lead. Korda’s 4-iron approach shot on 18 went through the green and left her just short of the grand stand. She was able to get up-and-down for birdie, and beat Stacey Lewis by a stroke. Korda’s final round 66 (-7), gave her the win at the Atlantis Resort’s Ocean Club course and $195,000.
Lewis birdied 6 of her first 8 holes but then bogeyed the par 4 9th. She then birdied 11 and 14 to reach -18. Lewis finished with 4 straight pars. On the 18th, she came up short on her approach shot and left her chip shot 15-feet short of the hole. Her chance for birdie stopped inches from the cup.
Paula Creamer, who had played with Korda all 4 days, finished tied for 3rd place with a total of -16. 16 year-old Lydia Ko shot a total of -15 to tie for 7th place.
